Day 12 of 25 Celebrating my 25th Anniversary.
Every time Karin explored a new art form or technology, I was the first thing she tested it with, to “see how it fits me”. Whether it was clay, air-drying clay, pen and ink illustrations, watercolours, acrylics, or even one of the earliest forms of “mass” reproduction – etchings. Karin discovered etching around the year 2000 at what would become her creative heaven for some time, the Spanish Engravings Museum of Marbella, which is tucked away in the old town of Marbella behind the church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación. It’s a hidden gem that harbours unique creations from great artists like Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Joan Miró, Antoni Tàpies, Luis Feito, among many other contemporaries. Karin spent many hours here learning different techniques, and the photos you see today are some examples of linoleum prints and classic line-drawn etchings.
